Giveaway and Give Back

Happy Late Winter, Fun Friends-
This weekend brought some warm temperatures and deep cleaning for my house. I started a new knitting project for an old college buddy and contemplated making wind chimes for my own house. I am ushering on spring feelings. Spring was never my favorite season, but I appreciate it more and more as I get older.
I promised a giveaway of some kind. I have also been considering donating a portion of my proceeds to charity. Giving back was one of the main reasons I started this business. I appreciate the hard work involved in running non-profits and the like. Yet, it's difficult to know how to choose the "right" place to give money and/or time. Being this is the month of my dog's birth (March 17, to be exact--St. Patrick's Day baby!), I was hoping to give a chunk of money to an animal welfare organization. Easy enough, right? Eeek. I got lost down the rabbit hole of research. How much does the president of the company make? How much of their money goes towards the cause? Should we be paying people to follow through with the actions/endeavors of the company? Does any of this matter if your heart is in the right place?
I love having customers and followers on Instagram (I recently deactivated my Facebook accounts). I need your help!! Here is how we wrap up a giveaway and donation choice into one nice package:
1. Go to https://www.instagram.com/storiedknits/
2. Follow me if you don't already.
3. Find the Giveaway Photo--Like it.
4. Comment with your favorite charity/organization and why to enter the giveaway. **This is not an opportunity to bash any organization--more of an informative learning experience for everyone.
5. Tag a friend for another chance to win.
6. See another organization that you like in the comments? Like it.
Alternatively, you can leave a comment for this blog post and we will add it to the list. Not everyone has an Instagram account.
Bonus: Check out the rest of storiedknits.com -or- https://www.etsy.com/shop/StoriedKnitsStudio to place an order and give back to the winning organization.
The organization that gets the most coverage/likes/mentions will receive 25% of every order placed in the Month of March. One random winner will get a knitted hat and scarf -or- up-cycled bottle wind chimes.
I want to be able to run a donation every month or every other month. So if we have many good ideas, they may get picked for the next go around.
Thank you all for the support and love. I am grateful to be able to share my passion and voice with the world.
